โš™๏ธ Installation & Permissions

Step 1 โ€” Install from the Shopify App Store

Search for Munshi Trust Network in the Shopify App Store and click Add App. You will be redirected to Shopify's permission approval screen.

Step 2 โ€” Grant Permissions

Munshi requests the following scopes. Each one is required for the app to function:

read_orders / read_all_orders Receive incoming COD orders and import order history for trust scoring
write_orders Tag Shopify orders with a Munshi risk label (e.g. "Munshi: โœ… Trusted")
read_customers Match an order's phone number to a buyer profile

Step 3 โ€” Accept the Consent Screen

Before accessing the dashboard, you must tick three consent checkboxes confirming that you understand how buyer phone numbers are hashed, that you agree to contribute anonymised delivery outcomes to the shared trust network, and that you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Step 4 โ€” Choose a Plan & Start Scoring

Select the Free plan to get started immediately (50 orders/month). Webhooks are registered automatically โ€” every new COD order will be scored within seconds of placement, no further configuration required.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฐ Pakistani stores only. Munshi scores orders using Pakistani mobile numbers (03xx / +92 format). Orders without a valid Pakistani phone number are automatically skipped.

๐Ÿ“Š What the Trust Scores Mean

Every buyer is assigned a score from 0 to 100 based on their COD delivery history across the Munshi network. The score updates automatically after each delivery outcome.

Buyer has a strong delivery record. Safe to fulfill COD orders without extra verification.

Buyer has a mixed or limited history. Consider calling to confirm before dispatch.

Buyer has multiple RTOs or is blacklisted. COD is high risk โ€” consider requiring prepayment.

How the Score is Calculated

The score is built from three independent layers, each contributing up to a maximum of points:

Historical Behaviour

+10 per successful COD delivery (max 40) ยท โˆ’30 per RTO ยท +5 per successful prepaid order

Order Context

Address quality score ยท Order value relative to buyer trust ยท Payment method (prepaid = +20)

๐Ÿ’ก New buyers with no history start at a mid-range score so they are not unfairly penalised. Their score converges quickly after 2โ€“3 orders.

Munshi tags every scored order on Shopify with a label you can see directly in your Orders list. Use the table below as a practical guide for your fulfilment decisions:

๐Ÿ’ก Score thresholds are set by Munshi (80 = Trusted, 50 = Neutral) and are consistent across all merchants to ensure network integrity. Custom thresholds are on our roadmap.

๐Ÿšซ Using the Blacklist

The blacklist lets you block specific buyers at your store only. A blacklisted buyer's trust score is set to 0 immediately and their orders will be tagged High Risk. This does not affect other merchants.

How to Block a Buyer

  1. Go to Blacklist in the Munshi navigation bar
  2. Enter the buyer's phone number in Pakistani format โ€” e.g. 03331234567 or +923331234567
  3. Enter a reason (e.g. "Refused 3 deliveries in a row")
  4. Click Block Buyer โ€” the number is hashed immediately; the original is never stored

How to Remove a Block

Find the entry in your blacklist table and click Remove. The buyer's trust score will resume being calculated from their network history on the next order.

โš ๏ธ Store-level vs Network-level: Your blacklist only affects your store. If a buyer has been blacklisted by multiple merchants across the network, their network trust score will reflect this automatically without any action from you.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Reading the Analytics Dashboard

The Analytics page shows a breakdown of your store's COD performance over time. Use it to spot trends and measure how Munshi is reducing your RTO rate.

The number of COD orders Munshi has processed for your store. Orders without a Pakistani phone number are excluded.

Trusted / Neutral / High Risk Split

A breakdown of orders by score zone. A healthy store should see the majority of orders in the Trusted zone over time as bad buyers are filtered out.

RTO Rate

The percentage of fulfilled COD orders that were returned. Munshi aims to drive this number down by flagging risky buyers before dispatch.

Score Distribution

A histogram of buyer trust scores across your order history. A bimodal distribution (scores clustered at high and low ends) means the scoring model has clearly separated your good and bad buyers.
