Terms of Service

By installing or using Munshi Trust Network ("Munshi", "we", "us") on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app. These Terms apply to all merchants using the app, whether on a free or paid plan.

1. Service Description

Munshi is a COD fraud prevention tool for Shopify merchants operating in Pakistan. It analyses incoming Cash-on-Delivery orders to calculate a buyer trust score and reduce Return-to-Origin (RTO) losses. The service works by:

• Receiving order webhooks from your Shopify store
• Hashing the buyer's phone number and looking up their history in the Munshi trust network
• Tagging the Shopify order with a risk label (Trusted / Neutral / High Risk)
• Updating buyer trust scores based on actual delivery outcomes

2. Eligibility

Munshi is designed exclusively for Shopify stores operating in Pakistan that use Cash-on-Delivery as a payment method. The service relies on Pakistani mobile numbers (03xx / +92 format) for buyer identification. Orders from outside Pakistan or without a valid Pakistani phone number are automatically skipped — no data is collected for them.

3. Data Processing

By using Munshi you authorise us to process your store's order data as described in the Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the legal right to provide this authorisation and that your use of Munshi complies with applicable Pakistani data protection laws. Customer phone numbers are never stored — only irreversible cryptographic hashes are retained.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Munshi offers a free plan and paid plans (Growth, Pro). All charges for paid plans are processed exclusively through Shopify Billing and appear on your Shopify invoice — Munshi never directly charges your payment method.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically
• You may cancel or downgrade at any time from the Plans page inside the app
• Downgrading to the Free plan takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
• No refunds are issued for partial billing periods

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

Munshi provides risk scores as a decision-support tool. Scores are probabilistic — based on historical delivery patterns — and are not a guarantee of future behaviour. Munshi is not liable for any business decisions made based on risk scores, including refused COD orders, lost sales, or disputes with customers. Merchants remain solely responsible for their fulfilment decisions.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false or manipulated delivery outcomes (RTO or delivered) to inflate or deflate buyer scores
• Attempt to reverse-engineer phone hashes or extract buyer data from the Munshi network
• Use Munshi to discriminate against buyers on any basis other than verified delivery history
• Resell, sublicense, or expose Munshi data or API access to third parties

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for merchants who violate these Terms, including submitting false RTO reports to manipulate the trust network. Upon termination or uninstall, all merchant-specific data is permanently deleted within 48 hours. Anonymised, hashed network contributions may be retained for up to 24 months to maintain network integrity.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes arising from the use of Munshi shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
